Terra Nova = Messy

Well I spent two hours on Monday night watching Terra Nova on Fox. The premise of the show was that in the future the earth is dying apparently at the hands of humans. The sky is dark, the air contains gas's that the citizens have to wear masks. So people are chosen I think, it wasn't really addressed, by their professions. The story starts out following the Shannon family. In this future parents can only have two children. Well they have 3. When suspected, the police show up, search the apt and find the third child. Jim, the father, was arrested and thrown into a maximum security, futuristic prison. Advance two years or so, and his wife, Mira, visits Jim and gives him a tool to break out and join them on their way to Terra Nova. We aren't really sure how he escaped or how they retrieved their third child from another secure location. Maybe I missed it while getting some water or something. Before we go further I'll add that this beginning seemed a bit liberal to me. Shame on us for messing up the planet, blah, blah. Now enter the family, all together now, on a platform walking towards a gateway. BUT a security officer seems to take interest in in Jim, pulls him aside for not sure why? Then he takes off and jumps through the gate with his family. Think a low budget Stargate. Then they arrive at the 85 million year old destination. The compound is enclosed and state of the art. I'm not sure how that's possible without satellites. Remember they traveled millions of years in the past. Now as a Christian, I know the earth isn't that old. Ok back to the story, the adults seem to get assigned jobs, which I think is good. Then there are the dinosaurs. What to say. The looked completely fake! Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, who gave us the amazing Dinos in Jurrassic Park, fell short. You would have thought Sid and Marty Krofft did the effects...lol. Then enter the criminals, the 6's. We aren't sure who their leader is but they are up to no good. So begins the adventure if you choose to. I for one will not.
